SURREY CoUNTRY MANOR WEDDINg VENUE
Stanhill Hill Court Hotel is a wonderful wedding venue in Surrey. Although not far from Gatwick Airport, it certainly doesn't feel like it as you drive down the long driveway and into the beautiful grounds of this country manor house. The grounds overlook the Surrey Hills and there's lots of great photo opportunities in the grounds. Even the main driveway is a great place to take couple photos.
GETTING READY
The bride and groom had access to their rooms to get ready. The bridal suite and the next room were perfect for getting ready with big windows with natural light: great for photographs and also for then hair and makeup artists. In the main bridal suite there was a beautiful chaise lounge as well as a lovely big mirror. The bed was also fabulous to hang the wedding dress off for photographs.
THE ORANGERY
For this wedding both the ceremony and reception was held in the orangery which is a beautifully naturally lit space alongside the bigger function room. The white draping looked really lovely and softens the whole space. It opens out on to the terrace, so immediately following the ceremony the guests can line the path for a confetti tunnel and then have drinks and canapes.
THe MANOR
The front of the manor house is really nice for photo opportunities. We walked down to the amphitheatre, along the main driveway and around the surrounding gardens. It feels lovely and private. For the reception the orangery was turned around during the drinks reception with big round tables and one long top table, as well as a dance floor at the end of the room.
Stanhill Court Hotel is a really lovely venue. Of all the venues I have photographed, the rooms to get ready in have been the nicest ones I have experienced. I really liked the amount of light in the getting ready suite and also the ceremony space. The grand stair case is also very nice for photographs. The grounds are really lovely, and the big terrace is lovely for people to relax on, with a big green next to it which is perfect for children to run around. Even though it is fairly close to Gatwick airport, it really doesn't feel like it, and more like a little oasis in the Surrey Countryside.
