Sussex COUNTRY ESTATE WeDDING ON a BUDGET
Sussex Registry Wedding Alternative
If you want a grand setting for a small wedding, then Findon Place is a beautiful option. A Privately owned country estate nestled in the South Downs National Park at Findon, West Sussex. This Georgian manor house is set at the end of a beautiful hedge-lined driveway and surrounded by manicured lawns and gardens.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph a wedding with their new petite perfection package. This is perfect for a weekday wedding for up to thirty guests. You have use of the manor for three hours which allows for arrival of the wedding couple, followed by the registrars and guests, the ceremony and then a celebratory drink and photographs in the house and gardens.
Married in Style
The dressing room upstairs is beautiful. It even has a cute doll's house full of emergency supplies such as plasters and paracetemol which is a lovely touch. One room has a lovely mirror and chaise longue which is perfect for bridal portraits. The adjacent room has makeup mirrors for those last minute touchups.
CEREMONy, Photos and Drinks
The couple were married by the West Sussex Registrars in the beautiful ceremony room and signed the register with their two witnesses in the drawing room. As it was raining very hard we were able to do the confetti indoors (which was lovely as I thought we may have to miss out and I LOVE confetti shots) followed by the group photographs and drinks in the ballroom. To cap off the day we were able to go out (with clear umbrellas) outside for some photographs in the beautiful gardens. As we were taking photographs with the wedding car outside Findon Place a big gust of wind came and blew the umbrellas inside out which made for a great candid moment! The couple had a big party the next day with their friends, but you could equally head to a restaurant if you did want to continue the celebrations on the same day.
Overall, I would highly recommend the venue. Such a beautiful place to get married!
